Starting the New Year and New Decade feeling a little bloated, sluggish, a little slower than usual, both mentally and physically? Do you have small aches in your muscles and joints, headaches, feel fatigued? Maybe consumed lots of delicious, rich food, and maybe a few too many drinks? Isn’t that what the Festive season is all about, sharing food, drinks and memories with loved ones.
However, now you want to start the new year on the right foot and not only feel good but look great too.
Not a problem. You just need to give yourself some T.L.C. This is where a great Detox comes in useful.
Detoxification, is a powerful tool our bodies have, to keep us alive and healthy. It is essential to our wellness. It simply means taking that which our body sees as harmful (toxins), binding them up and safely excreting them, leaving our cells to get on with the job they were designed to do. It is a daily process our body provides, weather we know it or not. It is no easy feat, considering the thousands of chemicals released into the environment, our water supply and food chain yearly.
So how do you go about it? What can you do to reduce your “Toxic Load”? Changes to lifestyle and diet are always a good place to start. You do not have to do it all in one go, start slowly, just Change One Thing, and gradually build on that.
Improve your diet to a better nutritionally balanced, vegetable rich, clean eating diet.
Add gentle exercise to assist in managing your stress levels, consider whether you really need to take the car, or can you walk? Do you really want the sweet treat, or will you enjoy a piece of fruit just as much, or more?
Include simple effective herbs and nutrients within your diet to help naturally support detoxification. Herbs like St Mary’s Thistle and Dandelion are used to assist the detoxification capacity of the liver. Green tea has demonstrated its ability to stimulate the activity of liver detoxification enzymes as well as decreasing oxidative stress in cells. Cleavers is traditionally used in herbal medicine to support kidney detoxification. Ginger is both a food and a medicine: stimulating digestion (good) while also calming troubled areas.
While you will often see these herbs used in practitioner-quality detox formulas, using these herbs in tea form is perfect for daily use. With a gentle approach, natural and organic detox teas can help your body’s natural detoxification process.
So, why not try a detox tea.
A tea detox may be just the thing that your body is craving. The natural ingredients can help the kidneys remove toxins and improve your liver function. The powerful, natural ingredients Clean Tea use in our Detox Tea support your lymphatic system, clears waste and toxins, helps inflammation, soothes the digestive tract, improves circulation and aids in weight loss. An added bonus, it tastes amazing too!
